Personality Friday With Mimi

“Music is me, I am music!” Folaranmi Afeez Olaosepin.

Good morning sir. This is Personality Friday With Mimi. Can we meet you?

Sure, you can.

Your name and any other thing we need to know?

My name is Folaranmi Afeez Olaosepin.
I do music for a living. I’m a student of TASUED.

That’s cool!
How did your career in music start?

It started in my final year during my secondary school days.I’m an art student.
So, we had something we do every Friday which we named “talent shooter”.
I started from there.

So, how has the journey been since then?

The journey has been tough, rough. It has been a scary one so far but God’s grace keeps us pushing.

Many critics
Many don’ts
Many ups and downs
Many denials

We are here today, all thanks to God.

What would you say music is to you?

So far, music has been a lot to me because I can’t do without it anymore.Music is my addiction.
Music has been a friend to me when I’m lonely.
It has been the one cheering me up when I’m down.

Music is me, I’m music!

“Music is me, I’m music”

As you know, we have various kinds of music.
What’s your own aspect?

I sing and rap.

Who are those you look up to in the music industry?

Firstly, I look up to God
cos he’s the creator of my soul. He knows more than me.

Good one.
The popular saying “school na scam”, what would you say about it?

I don’t support the saying.
School is not a scam. School play a vital role in shaping our lives. Those bigger investors today who didn’t pass through school are suffering through that because they have to pay huge amount to educators to assist them. And there’s a saying
“You are ignorant to something you do not know”.

That’s deep!

School is not a scam even though our government made it look like that.

So, which musician would you like to collaborate with?

Nice one.
Have you released any song?

Five (5) and still counting.

Wow! Wow!
How was your first time releasing a song like?

It was cool.
Being a first timer, I made some mistakes during the production which made the producer tired but we made hit at the end.
The title is “Panda Cover”

“Panda Cover”
What’s the song about?

It’s a cover of the popular designer track “panda”. So, I did a cover to it.

What advice would you give an upcoming artiste?

I’m still an upcoming too cos that’s what they call we unblown artist.
I call myself growing artiste because I grow everyday in the game.
So, my advice to we growing artiste is to keep pushing. There’s no limitation to your success, always remember giving up is not an option.

What would you like to say to other youths out there?

Stay loyal to your hustle.
