“Life is a sketch of God’s pencil” Oladosu Michael Emerald
Good evening sir. This is Personality Friday With Mimi. Can we meet you?
Yeah, you can.
Your name and any other thing we need to know?
I am Oladosu Michael Emerald. I am a writer, a poet, an artist and an actor.
I have so many awards attached to my careers.
How did you win your first award?
Hmm, I have awards in every aspect of my career. When I was still a footballer, my club won a competition of which I was the highest goal scorer. I was awarded with a gold medal.
So, how did you start writing?
I started writing the very year I graduated from high school.
Something must have spurred you to. Is it that you didn’t discover your writing ability while in school?
Yeah, I didn’t discover my writing talent while I was in school.
You being an artist, was it learnt or a talent?
That’s my first talent. I didn’t learn to be an artist, I was born an artist.
So, what has been your highest challenge as an artist?
Hmm… When I was in high school, there was a competition that most states in Nigeria participated and my school qualified in my state. We won at the state level and we did the final one in Abuja.
How can you relate life to art?
Life is a sketch of God’s pencil!
How far have you gone in your acting career?
Hmm… Well, I’ve been in two movies.
What are the titles and can you briefly share us your experience?
The first one is titled “my vow”(2017) and the second “God’s chosen”(2018).
Hmm.. Well, I started acting while I was 4 years old in my church. Time flies, I suspended the talent but in the year 2017, I followed a friend to a particular cast night and a role was missing. That was where I started over again!
What’s your advice to other youths out there?
My advice for the youths is that they should not stop doing what gives them joy. Tough time never last but tough people do. And they should keep learning.
